Wachovia decided to sell to Wells Fargo instead of Citigroup, because the Wells Fargo deal will not require government support.
The state of California is looking to get a $7 billion loan from the federal government to avoid bankruptcy. I say let them go broke.
Of course we will discuss last night's vice presidential debate during the show. I may be alone in this, but I thought it was largely a draw. Most people thought Sarah Palin ran away with it. Joe Biden did do a good job of tying McCain to Bush, while Palin did a good job of connecting with average voters. The McCain camp is circulating a list of 14 lies from Biden last night.
Regardless of how the debate went last night, it isn't enough. Yesterday McCain pulled out of Michigan. He's finished. He can't get his base in line, because his party has become a bunch of fake conservatives who refuse to take on the left. It's the Republicans who have given away the base. Real conservatives don't have a home anymore. Of course, it is October, and there are always surprises in October.
The bailout bill goes back to the House today. They will not be able to make amendments to the bill, including cutting the ridiculous amount of pork in the bill meant to buy votes. They even managed to sneak some environmentalism into the bill. This thing is on its way to passage, and future generations of Americans are going to pay for it.
Here's Jim Marshall's TV ad about his vote for the bailout bill.
The CEO of Ford says that the bailout of the US automakers is not a bailout, it's just money they need to adapt to environmental regulations.
A radio news reporter was fired for wearing a pro-Obama t-shirt while covering an Obama rally. Virginia government school teachers are pushing an "Obama Blue Day" to show their support for the Messiah.
While academics are debating whether or not Sarah Palin is really a woman, the Huffington Post is more concerned about whether or not Sarah Palin's lipliner is a tattoo.
Here's another Obama worship video, this one done paramilitary-style.

Does anyone think it's funny that some of the big banks failed, and the smaller banks somehow emerged? It sounds to me like Bush and the liberal illuminati were in favor of helping those who were rich get the money they spent of customers back.
