Will C. Jack Shaheen Get New Furniture?

No, I don't have a big problem with Mayor C. Jack Shaheen's office being renovated and refurnished after Donald Walker spent about 15 years smoking in there.  What I will have a problem with is if C. Jack Shaheen takes some furniture with him after he leaves office later this year.  Keep an eye on that.

Jobs are already being destroyed by ObamaCare.  I feel really bad for small business owners, who are probably going to be hit the hardest.

The women who serve in the Georgia General Assembly have decided that women are too stupid to choose their own insurance policy and therefore the state should not allow people to buy insurance across state lines.  The sad thing is that this lack of confidence in women is bipartisan.  If female legislators think that women are that stupid, maybe women are also too stupid to be serving in the General Assembly.

General Assembly Raising Taxes

A Monroe County newspaper is running ads trying to convince Macon residents to move there.  Houston County can't do that because they keep raising taxes, and they likely will do so again this year.

I'm not that upset by the renovations to the Mayor's office prior to C. Jack Shaheen moving in.

John Monds is providing a brilliant analysis of the differences between the Libertarian, Republican, and Democrat parties.  This is the guy who really needs to be Georgia's next Governor.

State legislators are on their way to raising taxes this year, starting with the hospital bed tax.  Something that is not a tax increase is getting rid of a refundable tax credit for the poor; that is just eliminating a welfare program.

You can blame the women for not allowing you to buy health insurance across state lines.  The Walking Ethics Complaint also opposes this.

Two bills extending the rights of Georgians with concealed carry permits passed the Senate yesterday.

The state will be allowed to put more money into the rainy day fund when they have the money to do so under a bill that unanimously passed the Senate yesterday.

The state Senate passed a bill to ban synthetic marijuana and one to require pickup truck drivers to wear seat belts.

House Speaker David Ralston issued his weak ethics legislation today, but legislators couldn't figure out how to kick tax cheats out of office.

Apparently Republican state legislators are considering drawing up articles of impeachment against Attorney General Thurbert Baker for his refusal to join the lawsuit against ObamaCare.

The Office of Congressional Ethics has finished their report on Nathan Deal, but Deal will not say whether or not he has it.  Roll Call reports that Deal does have the report, so why won't he release it?  This is a guy who needs to be kept far from the Governor's Mansion.

President Obama is daring Republicans to attempt to repeal ObamaCare.  They will attempt it, and they will be politically successful, but it still isn't going to happen.  Shouldn't it be telling that Fidel Castro is applauding ObamaCare?  By the way, jobs are already on the verge of destruction as a result of higher health care costs for businesses.

Facebook is being blamed for a rise in syphilis rates in Britain.  One city may have taken a step towards preventing the spread by cutting down 6,000 trees to keep people from having sex in the woods.

A New York City housing project had to change a playground jungle gym that was made to resemble a jail.  Given that they were living in a New York City housing project, the jungle gym was probably just preparing them for their futures.

ObamaCare To Cost Georgia

Republicans are going to run on a platform of "repeal and replace," and have even come up with bills to repeal ObamaCare.  Despite the fact that opposition sits at 59%, it won't be repealed, because Democrats will demagogue the bad policies that are still popular and there are enough parasites who view this bill like "Christmas."

Liberals are already pushing for a government health insurance option and the mainstream media is expecting you to stop demanding the best treatment because it just costs too much.

ObamaCare is expected to increase Medicaid enrollment in Georgia by 77 percent.  State taxpayers will end up paying for this.

On the same day that the Georgia Hospital Association gave up fighting the "bed tax," it passed the House Appropriations Committee.  That's one of the taxes that they might increase after all, in addition to a list of fees that will increase.

The Georgia General Assembly hasn't done much, but they can do stupid things like ban salvia.

The Senate will hear 31 bills tomorrow, prior to Friday's Crossover Day.

Bleckley County High School is going to allow a gay student to bring a male date to the prom.  This shouldn't be a story, but since it is, good for them.

How nice to wait until allergy season to claim that flowers are losing their scent due to "climate change."

What's with the bleeding heart liberalism coming from the Warner Robins Patriot since they got rid of me?

For your beer gut, they have invented Spanx for men.

G-RAMP Justifications Are Lies

With regards to G-RAMP, no, dissent is not allowed.  Retired Maj. Gen. Rick Goddard made that perfectly clear when he said that the community needed to have a "common voice" with regards to the boondoggle and Mayor Chuckie Shaheen made it perfectly clear when he came after me for criticizing the boondoggle.  We are all supposed to roll over and play dead and act like lemmings with regards to G-RAMP and just pretend that what they are telling us is true even though we know that it is not.  The two major justifications, jobs and BRAC-proofing Robins AFB, have both been proven to not be valid justifications for spending $35-$90 million on this waste of a project.  Maj. Gen. Polly Peyer was the one who said in January that "Robins cannot guarantee work for the G-RAMP site nor can they direct contractors to use the complex should it be built."  She said, in the same interview, that it is not a way to BRAC-proof Robins.  Goddard even stressed this week that "G-RAMP should never be mentioned in the same discussion with any future [BRAC] action."  So the top two justifications for G-RAMP are bogus, but we're supposed to pretend that G-RAMP is going to be Middle Georgia's Savior.  No thanks.

Keep calling your representatives.  Georgia lawmakers could be the difference in whether or not ObamaCare passes.

The poll on Chuckie Shaheen's new nickname expires tonight at midnight.  I'll announce in tomorrow's YouTube video what the new nickname will be.

Due to work constraints, the video will come late tomorrow night.  I'll post on Twitter and Facebook when it is up.

Don't forget you can listen to tonight's and every night's show after the fact by going to my page on BlogTalkRadio (link at right) or by using the widget at the top right of the page.

Dissent Not Allowed on G-RAMP

The 21st Century Partnership is calling for everybody to have a "common voice" with regards to G-RAMP.  Dissent is not allowed.  Is it bad that I'm hoping that environmentalists get in the way of this project?

Houston County is going to make a bid for the Google Fiber line.  This would be nice, but don't get your hopes up too much.

Apparently the results of Donald Walker's autopsy could be made public within a week.

The rapper Waka Flocka Flame is being held in the Houston County Jail on a probation violation.

The state unemployment rate rose to a record 10.5% last month.

The state Senate approved an unenforceable ban on texting while driving today.  I'm glad that they don't have any pressing business, like a budget, to deal with.

State House Speaker David Ralston is pushing for a new transportation bill, even though Georgia's roads are the 13th best in the country.  At least there is still a regional opt-out in the bill.

A bill to track prescription drugs passed a Senate committee today.

The HOPE Scholarship could be expanded to add a need-based grant for low-income students regardless of grades.  Why are we adding to the already bankrupt HOPE system?

The state of Georgia could raise about $300 million in new revenue by legalizing and taxing marijuana and cocaine.

Republican Ray McBerry and Democrat Carl Camon both had their teacher certificates suspended for misconduct with female students.  Camon appears to have been set up, but McBerry looks like a fool.  The incident report from McBerry's case even reads like a bad Lifetime movie.

After-Show Notes

Chuck Shaheen is not going to get a break from City Council or anybody else as long as he continues to act like a tin-horn dictator and destroys all good will he might have otherwise earned.  He's been so successful at building good will that a recall effort will likely begin as soon as his first 180 days are over.

Apparently Rep. Sanford Bishop is a possible "no" on ObamaCare.  Hammer him with phone calls to try and turn him:  (202) 225-3631.  Rep. Jim Marshall may be considered a solid "no" vote, but hammer him too, just to make sure:  (202) 225-6531.

College students don't like college budgets being cut because they have an attitude of entitlement to education.  Education is nearly 60% of the state budget, so of course it will be cut.  Instead, these student "activists" want to raise taxes on the very people who they hope will give them jobs after graduation.

Entitled College Students March on Atlanta

The show starts at 7:00 at www.blogtalkradio.com/jeffscottshow.  The phone number if you want to call in is (646) 929-0179.

The Warner Robins City Council last night awarded the contract for the G-RAMP environmental assessment, still without any proof that there would be any benefit to taxpayers.  They also appointed a recreation department advisory board with no input from Council.

City Council had their retreat at Reynolds Plantation over the weekend, in which Mayor Chuckie Shaheen asked everybody to "bear with him" as he figures out his job.  Council responded by pointing out that would be easier if Shaheen would tell them what he wants to do.  Shaheen also proposed a new organizational chart that would essentially create two city managers, despite his insistence during the campaign that there was no need for a city manager.

Kelly Burke is no longer Houston County District Attorney.  Hopefully the voters of Houston County will keep him out of public office for good.

College students marched on the Capitol in Atlanta yesterday to protest cuts to higher education budgets and tuition increases.  They seem to think that they have a right to an education.  So far the best response I've seen came from the Chairman of Georgia Young Republicans, who has more guts than Republican elected officials.

The Christian Coalition wants to tax lottery and movie tickets, but not cigarettes.  We know which sins they want to punish.

A budget task force has recommended $3 billion in state savings, while Rep. Larry O'Neal (R-Bonaire), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee is looking for ways to go after tax cheats.

Democrats are still trying to push their health care takeover bill but they still don't have the votes.  Meanwhile, President Obama is threatening to withdraw support from any Democrats who do not vote for ObamaCare.  That should keep quite a few more from voting for it.  Anybody who thinks that there should be a right to health care should consider this disgusting tub of lard.

No Democrat Congress has balanced a budget in 40 years, and no Republican President has balanced a budget in 50 years.

An iPod has now been responsible for a death.
