North Koreans Fire Rocket, Obama Responds Weakly

Kim Jong "Mentally" Il fired his rocket over the weekend.  President Obama responded by saying that there should be no nukes in the world, to which Iran responded "you first."  I'm sure Kim Jong "Mentally" Il is shaking in his boots, especially after the UN Security Council responded by doing…absolutely nothing.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called Obama his new "comrade" last week.  Let's see how long that will last if Obama continues, like he says, with the missile defense system in Eastern Europe.

What a way to cut the budget:  Obama will cut the F-22 program.

President Obama is refusing to allow banks to repay the TARP money that they received.  It's all about control, but they're at least getting smart enough to know that they can't impose the limits on pay that Congress wants and still take that control.  Tax cheat Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner still thinks that he will be able to decide who runs TARP recipients.  The estimated cost to taxpayers for all of the bailouts has nearly doubled since they passed TARP.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will pay their employees a total of $210,000,000 in bonuses—more than what AIG paid.

Obama wants to limit tourism to Antarctica in an attempt to save the planet, but wants to allow family travel to Cuba.  I think we should restart trade with Cuba.

While the private sector continues to shed jobs, the government continues to hire.  In fact, it's the only part of the economy growing.  Now Republicans say that government needs to sacrifice like the rest of us.

President Obama's approval ratings are the most polarized in the modern era.

Another off-teleprompter moment:  Obama thinks that Austrian is a language.

The far left is trying to blame conservatives for the bloody rampage by the guy in New York and the mainstream, uppity, navel-gazing media is just conveniently pointing out that the guy who killed 3 police officers in Pittsburgh was afraid of a possible Obama gun ban.

The New York Times Company is threatening to shut down the Boston Globe if the unions won't agree to cutting costs.

The latest federal study on the effectiveness of the DC voucher program shows that—surprise!—students receiving those vouchers perform much better than their government school counterparts, at a quarter the price.  Too bad the Democrats eliminated that program, and the teacher's unions in New York are trying to eliminate another school choice measure.

Having three or more tattoos is a sign of low self-esteem.

The wealth envy and demonization of these bailed-out companies are leading to the reverse of stimulus for Georgia because the big companies pulled out of the Masters.

Peaches are likely going to survive tonight's freeze.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Parkway will be dedicated on Saturday.

The General Assembly passed a package of tax cuts meant to help the economy, although it did not include a gradual repeal of the corporate income tax.  Here's a wrap-up of some of the other legislation that passed Friday.
